aren't really trees at all but giant yuccas. In the spring they produce huge, waxy white blooms.

Pinon pine trees intermix with the Joshua and oak trees.

The best part about Joshua tree is the rocks; huge boulders, rock slabs, rock mountains all composed of this incredible granite that is perfect for climbing. I
don't use ropes, just scramble over the rocks for fun.
Even in death there is beauty.

amenities like stores or food stands; just trees, rocks, sky and sand. That is what I love about it; truly a place to sit and be still.
